Hi my name is Alfie,
Over the years I’ve worked in a number of roles which have helped served in shaping the character I am today, including sales (door to door), youth work, construction, bar tending, cleaning, an occupation where I had my own business for a time. When I reflect, I’ve found I really thrive in roles where I am developing people such as teaching and relationship building. In recent years, I’ve cultivated a real love of the arts, particularly with regards to music and writing. What appeals to me is the impact and lives reached through story. Aside from the work I do with Be More Peacock, if I’m not practising on my piano or guitar, I’m developing scripts (for musicals and films). I also have a couple children’s books I’ve working on to aid those struggling with mental health. Being 32, it’s unlikely my new found hobbies in fencing and ballet will take me to the Olympics or Royal Ballet School, yet that won’t put me off.
You can see some of my top strengths and training I’ve completed below.
I am someone who puts my heart and soul in what I set out to do. I am a giver and hate letting people down. I invest my energy with thought and feeling, so if fortunate to have me on board, you can be confident my efforts will be met with purposeful intent.
My top strengths, according to Clifton Strengths finder include;
1. IDEATION: Creativity stand out strength, full of ideas with a mindset, where there’s a will there’s a way. I can make’s connections drawing conclusions, formalising them into rational & logical outcomes.
2. INDIVIDUALISATION: Intrigued by the qualities of each person and sensitive to the needs & wants of others, I’m good on a one to one and figuring out how people can work together, especially needed in building teams.
3. STRATEGIC: Spotting the signs of patterns & issues arising, I’m good at sensing when something does/does not sound right. Equally identifying and planning course(s) of action to be taken or to avoid in overcoming challenges.
4. DEVELOPER: Recognising strengths in others & cultivating the potential in others, I thrive being able to nurture talent and gain satisfaction in experiencing the progress in others development.
5. LEARNER: I not only enjoy the process of learning, including drawing feedback, especially when it’s for the purpose of achieving a mutual cause. Absorbing information like a sponge, I’m good at extracting relevant information pertaining to whatever objective is required; whether that be reading books, situations or people.
6. INCLUDER: I’m quick at establishing those in my presence may feel left out in a given situation. Accepting people from all backgrounds and cultures is a strength but also personal to me having experienced what it’s like to feel isolated from bullying during my childhood. Consequently, in later years I’ve been described as having that big brother vibe.
7. EMPATHY: Sensing the feelings of other’s imagining myself in their lives & situations, has provided an awareness essential in understanding when delivering messages, for what I’ve learned it’s not what you say but the way you say it.
8. RESPONSIBILITY: Taking psychological ownership of what I say and do has always been something that I’m self-aware and it’s served to remind myself what it means to be honest and loyal.
9. ACTIVATOR: Eager to make things happen, I pride myself in being pro-active in turning thoughts into action. I’m a believer in not looking at the clouds. What one reaps is a reflection of what one sows.
10. WOO: Love meeting new people & the process in winning people over (woo factor). For me I enjoy being able to cheer people up, especially those I am meeting for the first time.
